EMO 2017 with Rigibore – Precision Boring Made Simple

As a world leader in the manufacture of special boring tools, Rigibore will be showcasing its advanced range of products at the EMO 2017 show in Hannover, Germany alongside industry leading brands. Rigibore’s stand can be found at Hall 4 Stand G69, and the event takes place between 18th-23rd September 2017.

EMO provides the perfect platform to showcase Rigibore’s unique, industry leading solutions. This year we are partnering our advanced boring tool ActiveEdge with FANUC ROBODRILL to demonstrate how automation can increase productivity whilst reducing costs and certifying part quality. This is known as Rigibore’s Zenith.

Zenith is Rigibore’s completely automated solution to produce micron accurate bores. The Zenith system integrates ActiveEdge tools with in-process gauging to enable a machine controller to automatically compensate for insert wear, temperature change and material inconsistency.

With great emphasis on Industry 4.0, Rigibore is excited to provide a live demonstration of the Zenith solution at EMO 2017.

This automation solution removes all manual elements, and subsequently the risk of operator error that can lead to rework and part scrappage. Another important benefit is its ability to reduce cycle time and increase productivity by allowing micron accurate adjustments without removal from the machine carousel.

Digital Excellence

Also showcased on the Rigibore stand is our innovative Smartbore technology. This system allows Smartbore precision cartridges to be adjusted with micron accuracy using a handheld Digital Adjuster, without the need for removal from the machining envelope. Multiple Smartbore cartridges can be manufactured on a single tool contributing to a reduction in cycle time.

Rigibore apply patented Smartbore technology to small hole boring operations using the Smartbore Nano boring head. With an adjustment range of 0.5-16mm and precise adjustment of just 0.001mm (1 micron).

Rigibore will also preview the new Smartbore Plus design. This allows operators to achieve a range of bore sizes accurately and quickly with coarse adjustment and digital fine adjustment capabilities. The Smartbore Plus boring heads will enable micron accurate adjustments between 15-36mm on diameter.
